The crazy scenario we are in is not only depressing but bewildering.
I want to pose a few questions...
1. who really won the elections??
2. If H.E Hon Mwai Kibaki did win (which i believe he did!), why should he share power with anyone??
3. If Raila is not power-hungry as he claims, then why not swallow that bitter pill and accept the inevitable... He will never be the president of this country!!
4. Why all the noise over Kalonzo accepting the VEEP office? I mean, isn't every politician's ambition to ascend power and retain that power by any means (rigging, doctoring, bribing and any other adjective that the ODM comes up with!) If Raila was in Kalonzo's shoes, i bet he would have done the same.
5. What was The Hon Marende (Damn! we need such people in high office) doing all that time in that company of turncoats?? I must admit that Marende has done the honourable thing and put the country's interest first before the ODM's !!
6.What was Muite thinking?? Ati forming SPPG??? He is political reject and he should stay so!! There are no shotrcuts to leadership!
7.If ruto and his ilk think that the country will forget the atrocities committed in the rift, then they better think again! My family was uprooted and traumatised by hired goons masquarading as politico-hotheads. we will never forget.
8.Why wouldn't Kibaki call ODM's bluff and tell them off!!! Watado???

The other day I had to endure a long queue at the nation centre.

My mission???

To get a piece of the pie that is the IPO frenzy gripping the nation(no pun intended) so addictively.

Whilst the queue was moving albeit at a slow pace, i pondered at the implications brought about by this sudden investo-bug...

For one, the amount of cash lying idly at the bank vaults has reduced drastically ginya banks are literary begging the masses out there to kamata mkopo wa salo!(sic)

Secondly, people have realised that indeed one can make a fortune instantly and waste another in equal measure.

Thirdly, and this is what irked my balls!!!!!

Raila and co had the balls to brand all those people trying to get a piece of the pie drug peddlers ! (obviously my intepretition of his shitty comments) The dude claimed ati the phenomenal growth registered at the stock-ex was financed by drug money!!! How dare he label kedu 300K new investors drug dealers?

Raila, having realised his voter block here in kenya is inadequate,
has gone on a regional vote hunting spree!
Now,the brothers in diaspora are expected to register in large numbers
in anticipation of online voting rather absentee ballots (sic!)
shit is, once you leave kenya, your vote is as good as a 6 years' old.
Raila should get real. Trying to upstage Kibaki on continental tv is not only callous
but stupid.

He must be glowing with glee at the prospect of hapless africans wondering
who the fuck he is? Imagine a nigerian crying "oga, who is dis my brodda? wot contry is he supporting at de wold cop?" is he a presdent my brodda?"..........

Therefore, leaders like Kibaki, Uhuru , raila, Mudavadi etc will always hedge their bets on the tribal arithmetic whilst those from mimimal votes communities opt for the perception bit. examples include akina ruto, kalonzo, balala etc...

Anyway by going continental, raila has indeed entrenched his candidacy
on the minds of africans (not kenyans!)
shit is, can he bank on the african vote to help him sail through in kenya?
your guess is as good as mine.

What pan-african or rather regional initiative has raila undertaken that makes him
dream of being called a pan-africanist?
Is he implying that he is no longer in the league of kenyan leaders?
Is he at par with Nelson Mandela, Kwame Nkrumah or closer home, to Mwalimu Nyerere or Jomo Kenyatta?

To cut to the chase, the mama bears striking resemblance to one lorna irungu
Poor girl, all her goodies have been laid bare for the whole world to savour.
The pix have a signature address of a porn website ala BIGNATURALS.COM
I guess thats where they were first published.
Needless to say, the damage is done and lorna must be shocked.
What strikes one is the resemblance and she will definitely have a difficult time convincing
people otherwise.

ODM..the lies and intrigues

so raila reckons moi is his political contemporary!
Not one to be cowed easily, Moi told off raila by calling him a rumour monger..
"This country has experts in rumour mongering.
When did I meet him and where did the meeting take place?
I have not met President Kibaki," he said.

Moi’s remarks were in reaction to Raila’s allegations that he had met President Kibaki two weeks
ago and agreed to work for Kibaki in exchange for his security.

Raila accused President Kibaki of secretly engineering troubles in the Orange Democratic Movement assisted by Moi.
He said the former President was misleading Kanu chairman Uhuru Kenyatta.
Uhuru last week declared that Kanu would go it alone in the by-elections
and the 2007 general elections.
Last week, Raila told Moi to keep off politics, particularly ODM matters, as he had retired.
He then rambled on how the retired president is acting in cahoots with the current president
to scuttle ODM! What a lose mouth???
Moi also said that he would not be stopped from commenting on Kanu matters
since he is a life member.
I have always maintained that raila is simply power-hungry!!
His schemes and counter-schemes were bound to fail. Show the guy a different script, and he is
bound to react and fight you!!

"Politics is a matter of scheming and retreating. We are ready to counter any scheme formed against the movement," he said.

Uhuru is suddenly being demonised for going against the "raila script"

He cant be blamed for falling prey to raila's schemes. In any case, Ruto's presidential bid will come a cropper
for he is a non-starter! Raila might have though himself rather clever by hitting out at Mr Moi
and telling him to stop interfering in politics and be content with retirement.
This is the same Mr Odinga who is relying on Mr Ruto to deliver for him what was the Moi vote?
That might well turn to to be a fatal miscalculation.

Kalonzo Musyoka chose to play it safe in the unfolding saga.
The dude is still in dreamland what with the steadman polls rating him highly!
He is calling for dialogue with the retired president. For once his so called foundation

actually supplied relief food to some famine-stricken region.
But we all know that his is but a campaign gimmick.

In short is raila is but a liar and a user!!

UHURU & MOI and the demise of ODM...

Just who would have expected uhuru to pull the rug beneath ODM's feet???
well, I for one expected ODM to sambaratika. I have always maintained that ODM is just
but a paper tiger and moreso a tribal conglomeration.
Uhuru knew when to cut his losses and bolt. You see, Raila in his never-ending schemes,
counter-schemes, mipangos, porojos and other whatnots, had mooted a plot to upstage uhuru
from KANU's helm. His trojan horse??? you guessed it......RUTO!!!

He did forget one historical injustice which KANU has never forgotten - 2002.
Moi has never forgiven Raila for the humiliation visited upon KANU by NARC in 2002.
Granted, kanu and ldp did form a formidable outfit during the referendum, or did they?
MOi has always been lukewarm to the idea of another Kanu/ldp marriage.
His reservation this time round was grounded on the fact that kanu appeared to be the junior partner in ODM. More like a case of the hunter being hunted. Put otherwise, kanu was destined to be the bride!!!
Kanu has a gargantuam(?) ego. Moi could simply not stomach a scenario where kanu (or rather him) would not be calling the shots!!
Raila knew this and since he has a few scores to settle with Moi, he proceeded with his machinations.

Uhuru meanwhile could not entertain a situation whereby his sec.gen - ruto, was being touted as a possible presidential contender hence at par with him politically!!
Poor ruto....he is just but a pawn in this complex upuzi!!!
Raila served ruto a dish of deceit. he offered him goodies beyond his ficke imagination.
He may have probably hinted at "RUTO TOSA!!" and just like a kid at the site of candy, ruto fell for it hook line and sinker!!!

As expected, the ldp brigade came out in force (rather forced out!!) to show solidarity.
Kamotho had the audacity to question Moi's mandate. Poor fellas...the boat is sinking!! grab your lifejackets!

Narc-k must be laughing in glee at the unfolding events.

Uhuru did the right thing. Politics is a dirty game where no captives are taken.
Given raila's penchant for stabbing one in the back, its no surprise therefore

MOI understands this fully well and methinks he is waiting for his opportunity to

Raila knows he cannot match KANU's war-chest.

The fact is , LDP needs Kanu more than kanu needs ldp.

UHURU evaluated his options and struck an educated decision.

Non of the so called ODM luminaries can mobilise even a quarter

On this one, MOI and UHURU are right.
ODM is a non-starter. MOI and UHURU know its better to fight it out in their

The elusive unity of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) is already crumbling much earlier than most people had predicted and or expected. In understanding Kenyan politics, this division was bound to happen for various reasons mainly because of tribal and sectarian leaning politics that exist in the country. Not to be forgotten is the fact that most of the Movement’s luminaries are after personal and or individual leadership powers and prestige. They are not seeking to improve the welfare of Kenyans as they would want unsuspecting Kenyans to believe. They “are do-nothing” politicians, who only excellent when it comes to rhetoric statements and political theatrics. all those who have declared interests to vie for presidency through this group have done nothing other than their presidential ambitions’ declarations. No one has laid down or unveiled their development agenda, platform and or how they intend to go about in implementing them et al. Kalonzo Musyoka has just stated the obvious that ODM is doomed. The reason is not because all of them want to be presidents, but it is because of the power struggle within the group. Four political leaders within the Movement namely Musyoka and Raila Odinga both of Liberal Democratic Party and Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto from KANU will not support the other even after a fair nomination exercises within their respective political parties. Here is one political fact, there is no way that Kenyatta and Musyoka would let the other or others to be their presidential candidates in their respective political parties or groupings. And here is why. The Mwingi North MP now strongly believes that he is so popular in the country as result of two different polls conducted by Steadman Group such that he sees himself as the country’s next president. Although, the steady rise of Musyoka poll numbers is best known only to the pollster group because the man has done nothing to warrant such rise in numbers. But one thing is for sure, good looks or no good looks, the Mwingi lawmaker’s name will be on the presidential election ballot be it through LDP, ODM or any other political outfit. You can take that to the bank. The undisputed Luo leader and LDP strongman the Langa’ta legislator is unlikely to support his Mwingi North counterpart in an event Musyoka wins the LDP nomination contest. People don’t want to say it, but Raila would rather support Musalia Mudavadi should the former VP win the race which he has no chance of winning.

MPs are just but thieves!!!!!!!

Parliament is indeed a house of thieves!!!
The (dis)honourable members blackmailed the govt into increasing
their mileage allowance by well over 100% !!
to add insult ot injury, they voted to backdate the mileage claims
to july 2005!!! this means that each (dis)honourable member will walk away
with close to Sh890,000 arrears, costing the country an initial Sh198 million.

All MPs used to get a flat rate of Sh247,000 for the first 350 kilometres and thereafter Sh82 for each additional kilometre.
Now they will receive from between Sh150 a kilometre.
This is blantant robbery and an insult to the people of Kenya! apparently
Finance minister Amos Kimunya at first offered to link MPs to the AA rates as a compromise but this was rejected.
He then refused to agree to their demands but flew out of the country for the United States ... and the deal was hurriedly sealed in his absence.

Why did the financial secretary (who is actually the accounting officer in the treasury and not the PS, contrary to what many think is the case)
accede to this blackmail?
Granted the govt was in a tight spot with regard to the supplementary estimates that it wanted approved by the house.
The money was meant to finance Government operations until the next Budget in June.
This is no reason for parliament to blackmail the govt.

At first the members boycotted sittings ostensibly to block passage of the "mini budget"
because it did not factor in revised CDF estimates!!!
they were demanding the CDF allocations to be tripled to about KES 21B from the the current KES 7B.
Other MPs said they were opposing the mini-Budget because of the inclusion of allowances of ministers and their assistants in the National Assembly kitty, some of their colleagues said they wanted the allowances increased.
What a load of crap!!!!
Kumbe all they wanted was a major revision of their mileage claims!!!

PAC REPORT ON ANGLO-FLEECING.....a disappointment

Parliament formally adopted the report of the watchdog Public Accounts Committee, giving the Government the green light to investigate key figures in the Administration and to implement a raft of recommendations within two months.

While this is indeed laudable, somehow I sense a deliberate attempt by PAC (and by extension ODM) to cast aspersions on the integrity of the president.
This may seem to be in defense of the president but "in doing so, MPs accepted that President Kibaki himself was fully aware of the affair because he was briefed by former anti-corruption czar John Githongo. And specifically, the House rubber-stamped for action the recommendation that the conduct of Vice-President Moody Awori should be investigated over the procurement of the Sh2.7 billion passports system from Anglo Leasing."
to quote The Nation.

Githongo did this country proud by exposing the endemic corruption especially in the sensitive security procurement sector. In the process though, he exposed the presidency. God forbid if he ever taped the president! That would be high treason!

Anyway that's besides the point.

Indeed all those implicated in the scam should face the full wrath of the law.
Mwiraria, Awori, Muthaura et al...should be prosecuted NOT investigated as per what the PAC recommended.
Talk of politicians being selfish!
No wonder the whole house adopted the entire report by acclamation.They Ofcourse knew that investigations in Kenya, always come a cropper.

The PAC in its findings also called for Kiraitu's investigation for attempted cover-up of the scandal. Poor fella! Kiraitu is one of the brightest brains this country has ever produced. It's a shame he allowed himself to be sucked into the corrupt system.

I began by questioning the insinuation by PAC that the president was privy and probably consented to the affair.

Therefore, all those who tried to rip us off, should be castrated and hanged (for lack of a worse punishment)
Those who tried to assist them in one way or the other yani akina awori, muthaura, kiraitu etc
should be prosecuted and barred from public offices in future!!
The politico-hotheads who are trying to reap maximum polical capital from this scandal,

Following last week's tragedy and the subsequent final rites, the political knives are being sharpened and readied for battle!
In as much as I have tried to find a shred of dignity in one Agwambo, I simply cannot.
He was the first to delve into the issue of the by-elections. Barely hours after the burials,
YANI HE COULD NOT LET US MOURN OUR LEADERS TO OUR HEARTS CONTENT?
What does the dude do? he comes out with his usual crap on the supposed ODM/LDP strategy.
Anyway he is a politician. They never learn.
One thing he must note is that Nakuru will never elect any of his psycophants!!
I can bet my ass on this. Judging by the referendum results for Nakuru, ODM knows its
will never reign in Nakuru. Infact whoever wants to contest Nakuru's seat, had better allign himself with Kibaki.
Its pretty simple really, The majority of the electorate in Nakuru is basically KIUK... hate it, but thats a fact! Need I say more?

As for the other vacant seats, They will prove a testing ground for ODM's fickle unity. KANU is bound to be wounded and I doubt if LDP will not be tempted to field its psycophants in the four Nothern Kenya seats.
Their fallout might actually gift NARC which could concievably win a seat or two.
All in all the power is now in our hands.

MIRUGI KARIUKI...the passing of a patriot

Fellow kenyans, allow me to mourn the passing of brilliant minds. Following the tragic accident on monday the 10th day of april, the country has lost several brilliant patriots. Chief among them is the internal security asst. minister and the member of parliament for Nakuru Town, Hon Mirugi Kariuki.
I come from Nakuru town and as such his passing is not only a grave national misfortune, but also a personal one. He was my area mp and my leader. Despite the shrply divide political field, Hon Mirugi proved to be a unifying pillar especially in the hotbed of kenyan politics that Nakuru is. The plebiscite outcome especially from Nakuru is proof enough of the deep regard and esteem that the people of nakuru held for their great leader. Mirugi is fondly loved by Nakuru people. He played a very significant role in the fight for justice, equality and human rights and was incarcerated by the Moi regime for this. We all remember the bearded lawyer in big spectacles defending one Koigi Wamwere (Subukia MP) when the latter was being terrorised by again the Moi regime. As an aspiring leader, i can say that i was very proud of my mp. Not many mps are regular contributors in parliament, Mirugi on the other hand was a regular contributor. His debating skills left no doubt that he was adept and good at his job. We all remember him taking on all and sundry on the popula NTV programme SHOWDOWN. His sober and eloquent arguments always left me mesmerised and proud to be represented by him. never was he mentioned in bad light. He never engaged in corrupt activities.
Hon MIRUGI KARIUKI....the people of NAKURU mourn thee.
You were our son and our leader....

RAILA AND KALONZO...THE FALLOUT

The more things change, the more they remain the same...
It has been said...
that raila cannot be trusted, that raila is powerhungry, that raila is out to wreck havoc in the kibaki adminstration, that raila is out to grab power via the back door...i could go on.
my point being as follows..

Recently, kalonzo musyoka was forced to come to terms with the real raila.
the two erstwhile comrades are on the verge of going their separate ways following the disagreement on how to nominate the ldp presidential candidate.
Raila is said to favour a delegate system while kalonzo favours a membership system.
For obvious reasons, Raila knows he cannot win the nomination were a membership system adopted. likewise, kalonzo is aware that he cannot win were a delegate system adopted.
therefore these two are likely to fallout and go their separate ways.
This will be end of ODM. The LDP will ofcourse survive with Raila in charge.

In as much as i rile at Agwambo, I must hasten to add that he indeed is
a "successful" politician. His sole goal has always been to achieve power and authority. Forget about all that bull crap of ati sijui to "serve my country"
As a politician , his only goal is to ascend to power and glory - the rest comes later.
he will use whatever means to achieve his ambition. No one can fault him for that, besides thats
why one gets into politics in the first place.
Poor Kalonzo, he has been fed with a falsebelief of his divine right to the presidency.
armed with a poll of some 2000 unknown fellas, he is suddenly behaving like the presidency was (not is..) his by birth right! he is in for a real shocker!
He is bound to be betrayed by raila.
It used to be said that former pres. moi was really notorious for
using and discarding people. But i think raila is by far the worst in this!! he is playing ruto, mudavadi and kalonzo in his devious schemes. once again his political shrewdity must be applauded. Yenyewe the guy has "IT" politically. And this is why many a politician are awed and irked by raila. His brand of politics is basically crude but effective!!!... yea...i hate to admit that.

Kalonzo had better bolt now while still under his supposed presidential illusion. Yani the dude is in to this steadman poll so much, that one would be forgiven for thinking he commissioned it!! Kenyans are tribal! all that crap of national outlook, bla bla bla..is just
but a ruse. deep down we will always vote "our man"
by the way, who said its bad to vote for a leader from one's tribe?
anyway, kalonzo's is just but a dream if not an illusion.
The reason i call it an illusion, is as i have put it before, tribe.
There is no use arguing, but we kenyans are tribal. Even if kalonzo marshals all the available kamba votes,he will amount to nothing as long he is unable to secure a sizeable chunk of votes
from the main tribes. This explains his many forays into rift valley lately.
Going by the current trends, what would the outcome be?
If he falls out with raila,he will lose the luo vote(and by extension, nyanza) ruto and moi will deny him the kalenjin (and by extension rift valley) vote western will definetly stand by mudavadi (kombo is basically a non-starter!!) hence he willmiss on the luhya (hence western) vote. let me not even delve into the kikuyu (and central) vote. its pretty obvious.

What options does kalonzo have?
In my opinion, he got only one.... to form his own party. he cannot join Narc-K or any other existing party. Sadly though, this will be the end of his presidential ambition, for he will be reduced to tribal chief!!
In the end, raila will have unwittingly facilitated Kibaki's re-election!! I guess his blind and selfish ambition will ultimately lead to the failure of ODM/LDP and to KIbaki's re-election.

I started by labeling raila. Let me back the labels with some observations..
Kibaki despite his shortcomings is actually a working leader. Look around and please not at the politics....
1.roads are being repaired. (proof...as u go home in the evening, the jam as a result) 2.corrupt fat cats are being brought to book. 3.there are actually no sacred cows..remember murungaru, kiraitu, and now mullei. 4.kenyans are actually sharing in the wealth of the nation...kengen IPO, KCB/Uchumi rights issue. 5.the govt is listening to its people.....we all know dr mutua despite his goofs. everyday a minister or two is grilled by the media or a watchdog committee of some sort! 6.remember free primary education? 7.kenyans can now "mock" or "insult" their president and actually spend no single second in nyati or nyayo house!! 8.politico-hotheads i.e raila and his ilk can talk of coups, subversion, mercenaries etc with utter disdain and disregard of the law and walk free. 9.all wannabe tribal chiefs actually stake their claim to presidency with no fear or respect to the incumbent while elections are ages away. 10.you can actully sue the govt and win hence force the govt to rescind a decision!...remember alcoblow?? and now the contoversial ETRs?? 11.KBC is actually broadcasting any negative report on the govt!! 12.famine relief is being used for the correct purpose, not as an election bribe!! 13.no country in africa (and maybe the world) can boast of the freedoms (especially expression...hmmm blogging is evidence enough) we enjoy, thanx to our laid back president and political system!! 14.anybody can register whichever political party they chose...remember new kanu, odm, narc-k?? 15.free media...contestable? yes because of the standard fiasco, but in general our so called media practioners have never been this bold. i mean ,they are summoning govt officials at the flimfiest of excuses!! 16.finally the govt has been completing all those dead "whit elephants" Yani projects which stalled 20 years ago are being completed!!

Indeed there are lots of misdeeds and letdowns by kibaki's govt. But atleast there is some shred of evidence that actually his government is working!! only a fool can chose not to look at the whole picture.
I have never been a big fan of Kibaki neither am i a kibaki apologist or sycophant. Granted, the man has his flaws but he has and can deliver !
what makes raila and his ilk think that the odm brigade will suddenly transform this country's fortunes?
If they could not perform in their ministries, what makes them think they will be able to match or even better what kibaki has done?

I can boldly state that in the short period he has been in power, kibaki has achieved alot more than moi ever did in his 24 years!!!
The ODM is simply playing politics. they know that once kenyans begin to notice the little good things about kibaki's govt, then they are doomed!!

Politicians are simply an amazing but rotten bunch!!!
I will start with the theatre of the absurd. One fidelis "kangumu" gumo
has joined the bandwagon!! he has declared for all and sundry that he will be
vieing for the presidency come 2007!! this is not only laughable,
but as unbankable and unreliable as the other wannabe contenders.....
u know the ruto, balala etc and their ilk?

why may i ask would a smoking gun like gumo decide to throw his hat in what is turning to
be a circus of the absurd?? all the same good luck to him.

As the say, in politics there are no permanent friends or enemies.
last week, steadman published yet again their opinion poll on likely prezzo candidates
for 2007. The poll caused some interesting reactions from differnt sections.
first and foremost, Agwambo. Yani Raila was so incesed at the poll, that as usual he dismissed it outrightly!! the sad bit is that LDP's blue eyed boy - kalonzo has been consistently polled as the favourite. Raila was at his element dismissing the poll as inconsequential. he even claimed ati kalonzo was simply ahead cos of his boyish looks!! what sore loser!
deep down, it galls raila on two fronts.

First is the fact that despite how much, he disparages kibaki, he will always be less appealling nationally as compared to kibaki. No need to argue this one out.

Secondly, a curious observation was that kalonzo is actually more popular and electable in NYANZA!!! Nyanza is supposed to be raila's bedrock and backyard!!!
Raila must have felt a "kiwaru" seeing that he is afterall human!!! I foresee a major fallout
within the LDP and ODM. I have expressed before that Raila is ODM/LDP!!!
nobody other than Raila calls the shots in ODM/LDP. And i dont think Raila will be foolish again and play kingmaker!!!
Hatasema "tosha" not unless its "tinga tosha!!"

Kalonzo is indeed a clever one. He chose to ignore the hullabaloo brought about by the poll. His minions lead by one daudi mwanzia however did the dirty work. they
proclaimed ati its their time to take charge!!! This will be the bunch that will propagate
the ODM/LDP fallout.

Poll or no poll, kenyans are ethnic and tribal and no matter how hard we try to hide it, 2007 is bound to be a bruising year!! I dont think ODM will last. They will fail to present
a single candidate and this might actually help propel kibaki back to state house.
Raila is aware of the imminent fallout and he actually said as much over the weekend.by the way, when i say kenyans are tribal, better believe it.

for instance last week when out athletes jetted back from melbourne,
certain politicians were on hand to receive them. curiousy though, we extend tribe into our sports, for only kale and kikuyu mps were at the airport!!
there was ruto, betty tett, kamanda etc!!!
by the way, have you ever heard raila or kalonzo congratulate our athletes? they never do...
i bet if there were kamba medallists, kalonzo and his minions would have been at the airport!!!

Raila is still deeply engrossed and intrigued by Kibaki. On sunday while addressing his constituents in kibera, He had the balls ati to summon Kibaki as the MP for Othaya to Bunge, ostensibly to answer to the PAC allegations about his complicity in the anglo-leasing affair.
Raila must surely realise that Kibaki's mandate is divine and supreme!!we the people gave Kibaki that mandate. He should stop dragging the president's name in every little scheme he lays to further his loose political games!
granted Kibaki can do alot better, but i dont think when we elected him, we put a rider on his term and appointed raila and co. as the guardians of that mandate!!

Now, a new sycophant was elected to the house recently. One paddy ahenda, in his maiden speech to the august house, chose to play the tribal blame game. He blubbered on how ati minutes of the education ministry's meetings are written in kikuyu!! The guy actully doesnt know that we got a new minister, and he aint from central!!! this was ofcourse not to the benefit of the people of kasipul kabondo, rather it was to please his master - raila.
like a dog intent on pleasing its master, ahenda rambled on, dwelling on trivial
and petty issues much to the chagrin of the house but to the delight of raila and his odm brigade...
A new kid has indeed been baptised in the name of ODM!! shame on you ahenda!!

Elsewhere, ruto was in his element. First he dismissed the steadman poll as being unrepresentative of the true picture. Ironically, he then commended himself for finally making an appearance in the poll and promised to improve his ratings in the next one!!! what a load of bull crap!!
That was not the last of him, he was at it again, this time railing former president Moi. Moi has apparently constituted a council of advisers for the Kalenjin and greater rift valley community. Ruto was obvoiusly left out and this irked him. He dismissed the council as a tribal outfit (which it is anyway...). He then avered ati he is inclined nationally rather than regionally.

yea right, ruto??? national leader?? i dont think so!!!

There are some peolpe who should neva eva!! dream of leading this country. characters like ruto, mwenje,balala, gumo,kiraitu, ngilu, kombo etc

The really credible candidates in my opinion are kibaki, kalonzo, uhuru, mudavadi and saitoti. they somehow appeal nationally and they do have the required numbers. I know one might dispute Uhuru. but other than Kibaki, the kiuks will vote uhuru to a man!!!

I therefore foresee a four way battle in 2007. KIbaki, raila, uhuru and kalonzo will definetly battle it out. As for mudavadi and saitoti, the jury
is out on whether they would actually contest!!

My understanding is, KIBS has simply given his nod to the formation of the party NARK-K.

top on the list was ofcourse nationmedia.com. The SMG not to be outdone, published on sunday its own survey quoting some unknown organisation. top on the list(actually they had none!!) was eastandard.net. This is ofcourse a case of sour grapes!!
you see, the nation survey was conducted by a "third party with worldwide credibilty". It authored supposedly by a ugandan...uwongo mtupu!!
The standard , used two of its reporters to write some piece on how superior their site is! ati they use sijui "mirrored servers"..who gives a damn!!

their pretext....-ati since easyfm(formerly nationfam) is hosted on the nationmedia site, it is ngumu to determine the leader in this field!!!
mshidwe nyote!! capitalfm is indeed the most listened station on the web (for eastafrica ..that is) . Infact when one visits the radio link on nationmedia.com, one gets a blank page informing you that it's under construction! its been like this for ages!! they have neva managed to go online. it is an easy job (how ironic!!) for a company with vast resources like NMG!!!

A curious website that made the list was kikuyu.com. i bet this made jangs go gaga!!!! what happened brothers? such an undertaking is expected from jangs who i think possess the best ICT brains in Kenya!!

Recent happenings in relations to the mercenary saga leaves alot
of unanswered questions. first, why are these so called mercenaries
so arrogant? who are they really working for? why is the government so reluctant
to unravel this fiasco? why is the police so divided?
i must say this saga is indeed appalling. Agwambo surely bit more than he could chew.
with allegations flying in all directions its hard to discern the
truth.
As usual the whole thing has been politicised (everything in kenya is politicised anyway!!)
The armenians as arrogant as they are, deserve to be treated as
foreigners and not mercenaries as claimed by politicians. Till a competent authority determines them to be such, then
noone has the right to accuse them. dont get me wrong, i am not
defending these bling-bling ruffians, nay!!! i am just siding with the rule
of law!! personally, i would lynch for their arrogance!!
but we got to stick to the tenets of justice.
remember the adage"innocent till proven guilty??"how did Raila know they were mercenaries? is he a mercenary himself?? for it takes a thief to know one!!

Jaindi kisero in his piece today in the daily nation, has cautioned the public against the excitement generated by the IPO.
I tend to disagree with his view on the ipo.

yea to some extent our financial markets are rather unpredictable and volatile.

what is currently going on is a bearish trend - whereby people are selling stocks not for speculative reasons- but to fund future acquisitions.

to some extent i dont agree that buying kengen shares might be disastrous in the long term. on the contrary, kengen is poised to be a high yield stock-given the fact that it is an energy stock.

worldwide trends with regard to technology and specifically energy stocks have pointed to strong gains in the longterm. given our energy needs and climatic conditions, kengen is poised to continue playing the critical and crucial role in energy security for the country.

i can confidently state that it will be damn expensive to buy a kengen share 1 year from now-the price will have skyrocketed!!!!!

of course most kenyans are eying the stock in the hope of reaping shortterm gains (dividends, capital gain, high eps, etc). now this group will indeed help bring the price down for a while, and thats where a strategic investor can cash in.

finally after two years bila silverware, ManUtd ran riot jana and whipped a shocked wigan outfit to
win the Carling cup. long regarded as a trophy of no real meaning, the carling cup has proved important
to Man Utd because most of our stars had really not tested cup glory with united. Talk of Wayne *boy wonder" Rooney, Christiano Ronaldo, Louis Saha, Edwin Van de sar,
Kieran Richardson and a host more.
The win was crucial . now that we are back to winning ways, better times lie ahead. It was also good to see the Glazers finally get some trophy for
their investment in United.
On other fronts, it was good seeing Giggs receive his 16th!! (wow!!) winners medal in his illustrious career at united. Finally it was beautiful for Sir Alex to bag his 20th trophy for united. He is now the most decorated Manager in the UK and indeed the whole

Last saturday saw Man U concede a goal to the scousers and hence Man U did not manage to win. This is a careful choice of words for when it comes to the great red devils, they neva lose a game, they simply manage not to win in one of those rare encounters. As for the rest of the field i.e goon squad, scousers chelskis etc, they simply get beat!!! period. now that we have established my allegiance, onto to other things...

Why Mwiraria resigned

Mwiraria did not resign specifically because of the pressure of Anglo-Leasing, a senior government official in the VP office has confirmed.

Friday, last week the United States government wrote to the Prezzy and copied the letter to Mwiraria warning that unless the Finance minister resigned or was sacked the US would not grant him a Visa to attend a high profile donors meeting (IMF and World Bank)in Washington DC.

Monday morning the letters were delivered. Tuesday evening after the World bank underlined their pressure to withhold money and not deal with Mwiraria President kibaki and his men sense the seriousness of the issue, so Kibaki summons them to State house for an evening meeting.

the meeting discussed among other things options out for Mwiraria, but it was agreed he had to leave the treasury to avoid embarrassment by the US government via a publicly communicated Visa denial.

Tuesday no conclusions, so Wednesday morning, Kiraitu, Mwiraria the VP and Muthaura gather at State House again, and the option of a minor cabinet reshuffle is considered but that too was dismissed as a poor strategy.

Mutahi Ngunyi, who has been a key advisor of the government since leaving the nation is summoned for his intriguing options and he suggests the sacrifice principle, quoting an incident when Moi had to sack Biwott and even jail him over the Ouko report to cool down tempers and then release him and make him a powerful minister after the public had forgotten.
Everyone in attendance agrees, but questions emerge over repercussions of the resignation to the rest who are caught up in the Anglo-Leasing issue.

The rest are to stay put to the end.the meeting agrees.no speeches on the matter.However Thursday morning, the VP is summoned to State House again this time for a brief that he has to defend himself, stare at the Camera's and argue that Immigration department has a new minister so you cannot interfere with investigations, cancel the cabinet meeting earlier called by Muthaura to ensure the divisions on Anglo-Leasing do not permeate the level till it sorted out.

And that is why Mwiraria quit, like the lamb that was sacrificed to enable the exodus passover....so was Mwiraria....

According to the daily nation, the gava is trying to delay the wheels of justice, by instituting a fresh probe into the goldenberg scandal!!!.. what a load of crap!! why should the CID conduct fresh investigations yet theBosire Inquiry has gotten to the root of the scam?? shame on them!! washindwe!!

Delaying the process will not shield and save the chief perpetrators... so akina saitoti should simply rersign and be subjected to the courtsd to answer charges of wrong doing against our motherland. Pattni should be made to repay back all he fleeced from our coffers. While i dont advocate for the retired president to be arraigned in court, i think he should issue a comprehensive statement through a reputable lawyer ( not that mutula kilonzo fella!!) on what he knew of the scandal.

the daggers are out!!!! kibs has decided kila mtu na mzigo wake!!!! with anglo leasing barking at his door, he had no option but to unleash the goldenberg report. His detractors say this is but a diversionary tactic meant to deflect public attention from his biggest scandal.

all in all, corruption of whatever kind must be condemned in strongest terms possible!!!! The goldenberg scandal is by far the worse to be perpetrated by the former regime.This scandal ground our economy and messed our livelihoods!!! Anglo leasing on the other was nipped in the bud before it was fully executed. Thanx to anglo leasing, we now know what really happens to those so called security contracts!! Anglo leasing has exposed the endemic corruption that is ingrained so deeply in our system and dates way back to the 80s.

kumbe our generals have been dealing in shadowy deals that defraud the country. These well connected individual would form shadowy companys that would be awarded lucrative contracts at inflated prices!!! washindwe wezi hawa!! What business does a general have in engaging in tendering for supplier contracts of the DoD?

Its amazing to note that even retired generals engage in supply contracts to DoD. Reading Githongo's report, one is shocked at the level of involvement by our seniormost security chiefs. One thing that struck is the manner in which the complicity by the government was so forthcoming. The president, was either misled,lied to,deliberately misinformed or knew all along about these rip offs but chose to keep mum.

But to be fair to him, he was incapacitated by the accident and probably his lieutenats took advantage of the situation

The so called resource mobilisation by the chief perpetrators of anglo-leasing is a shame. What made this people so scared of raila that the had to loot the economy in order to prepare for an election ( immediately after an election!!) this railaphobia will surely consume them. One must note that engaging in corrution, will always lead to one's downfall.

atleast the money that was to paid to anglo leasing was refunded and the scam exposed before ripping us off. As for goldenberg, the billions are lost for good!! what a shame? the government should make sure all those involved in any manner in both scams are brought to justice.

finally, the government should as a matter of urgeny perform a comprehensive audit of all security related contracts - both the current and the past. This is one area that appears to be a lucrative avenue for these fraudsters who hide under the guise of "sensitive security tenders". the auditor general should be mandated to carry out the audit while KACC should as a matter of urgency institute criminal proceedings against all those who are implicated in the scams.

now that ruto, tinga, kalonzo and uhuru are officially in the race for prezzo, lemme disect and analyse how 2007 reallignments are likely to be...(my opinion is based purely on rational jingoism!!!!)
first and foremost, some truths and half truths!

Tinga is LDP!!! period.... hakuna jogoo ingine inawika kwa hiyo nyumba isipokuwa Tinga!!!Kalonzo et al might as well jump ship if they are actually dreaming that Tinga is going to play second fiddle this time round. Tinga roared and declared that he will offer himself...Nay!!! he declared that the LDP ticket is his and has always been his!!! ( my inference hate or love it, i dont care!!)

Kalonzo, is seriously in need of help!! actually he is getting it! who could not see that by launching a foundation...( by the way , foundations are the sole preserve of former presidents, kings, Agah khans etc!! not aspiring leaders and tribal chiefs!! but i digress), he essentially is mobilising funds for his 2007 prezzo election war chest!!! cunning move mister, keep it up. problem is, what happens if the elections come a cropper???? By the way, what happens if the next steadman poll shows that koigi or kalembe or shakombo ama Manduli is the most favored prezzo candidate, should any launch a foundation in anticipation of being elected??? come on dont let fickle and scientific trends cheat you ati utaipata virahisi!!! Kenyans are known to go against science and usually they vote tribally and with their stomachs!!leo wewe, kesho yule....

Ruto on the other hand did a number on Uhuru (my boy mpende msipende!!). Problem is (ruto) chose the wrong platform... He essentially reduced himself to a sub-tribal chief!!! the rest of the field i.e... the mudavadis, balalas, okemos. mutulas etc, are but a bunch of dreamers who dont deserve a mention in this erstwhile publication..

Of the four serious contenders, two will fight it out for ODM (or whatever it is called this days..)..........

since we have established that, Tinga is LDP. then logically UHURU is KANU!!!.............. hence this two will square it out for ODM ticket...

history tells us that hakutakuwa KT (Kenyatta tosha!!) this time. Hence Tinga and Uhuru will go for the presidency in their own boats and hence the ODM will be no more.... Meanwhile Kalonzo will shop for a tribal party a.k.a NPK to further his ambitions..........

kalonzo musyoka has launched his presidential campaign fundraising vehicle in the name of a foundation!!!!
dude, FOUNDATIONS come after ones career is over.methinks kalonzo is jumping the gun. i mean who on earth heard of a presidential aspirant launch one even before he is elected???? yani hata kibs with all his aloofness knows that he will need a foundation AFTER...(i emphasize.. after!!!!) he is evicted from the house on the hill.
kalonzo is surely excited simply because he was recently polled by steadman as a leading popular politician.
on the same front, kibaki might as well rate himself as having an confidence rating of 43%!!!
taking into account the plebiscite results.
kalonzo, raila, uhuru , ruto et al, have a combined confidence of 57%
therefore their individual ratings are simply about10% each.........
so kalonzo should really not let a simple unverified claim go into his head

kibs has finally unveilled his much awaited cabinet. i must say it was somewhat anticlimatic.
what with the way the country was put on edge for a fortnight hoping for some bold appointments!!!

one must admit though that kibs was in a tight corner and he really was a wounded man. firing the LDP brigade was expecteced but so was the hardline wing of the banana camp. seeing that many of the former ministers had made a career of being waziri, i wonder how they are faring now that the trappings of power have been taken away.

yesteday the orange camp finally ventured in the banana territory. the venue was uhuru's backyard in thika. of course they expected banana peels litter the way to thika stadium. the ndizi goons dared them to a fight and it was really hilarious watching adults pelt each other with plastic chairs..........
this reminds me of the time when somali mps resulted to chair fights at the grand regency hotel, when they could not agree on various issues. remember most of the somali mps are warlords!!!
am sure they wished they were in somalia where they would have simply shot each other.

anyway the banana republicans were a wounded lot!!! i mean, with the beating they received in garrissa on last week, i believe they were stocking their egos and were relishing the chance to mete some revenge on the orange brigade!!

all the same, the orange brigade did put a good show in thika. they were led by tinga(a.k.a agwambo). the host was uhuru. agwambo's lackeys were not to be left behind. this time though, they were careful and they did not insult the prezzo as they normally do in nyanza!!
ofcourse had they dared then it would be a different story....as they say, when in rome ,do as the romans do.

This past weekend the banana republicans finally managed to put up a show of their shaky campaign. The rally was held at banana hill(sic) in kiambu district. what a coincidence!!!
of course they did this in an area where they knew they have wide support. Prior to that the replubicans had been chased literally out of garrissa!!!! of all the places one would expect little or no opposition to either camp!!. the republicans should have known better.
the banana hill choereography proved to be a face saving technique for the republicans. i must add though that the republicans have some nice taste for headgear!!!! the kamaru style hats are quite authoritative!!!...on this front, they outdo the compe!! i must get a similar hat!!
it will be quite interesting to watch the banana republicans in a different corner of the country prefarably luo nyanza......tinga's stranglehold....

meanwhile, the orange brigade, was really working up the crowds in various regions. the most notable thing was the declaration by agwambo (a.k. tinga) that the orange team brigade will bag the referendum.!!!.he proceeded to tell his followers not to bother stoning or disrupting the banana republicans' rallies as this would be a waste of time and vital resources!! ( read stones!!) it was really hilarious watchinh one kajwang outdo himself in firing up the crowds. the usual tinga sycophants were present and tried to outdo each other so as to appear as the most ardent agwambo sycophant!!!

this whole comedy is ofcourse but a fight between the kiuks and the njengs!!!
i mean lets face it, the banana republicans cannot dare set foot in agwambo's territory. the orange brigade are also aware that it will be hard selling oranges in the banana land of cental kenya.

One project uhuru ( my favourite ) has engaged strange bedfellows!!! The kiuks (being as proud as they ever are) know very well that their blue eyed boy is simply playing politics. he will of course not deliver significant votes to the orange brigade, but he will suffer no backlash when the big day ( read the elections in 2007 and 2012) come. he simply their "heir apparent" when the prezzo calls it a day.. call it a case of havin your cake and eating it!!!

It was reported that the govt had recalled our ambassador to the u.s. of a cos some senior aide simply couldnt tame his libido!!!! poor guy may cause the good ambassador his job. of course the very one and and only gava spin doctor dr. alffie mutua denied this allegation. more details will emerge later.

this past weekend was really hectic.
the daytona mgt did a shody job and as a result, their was no mugithi. they are yet to learn that mugithi is pretty competitive and to stay in business you must be prepared to advertise every friday in the daily nation!!!. this paper really makes my day on fridays.........i mean what with all those pubs ( they are actually patronised by most the banana republicans) advertising what and who will be featuring in their weekend mugithi menu!!!! the nation guys i think are republicans!!! on a footballing note, the battle of the reds ended in a stalemate...
considering the history between the red devils and the reds, this was a somewhat fair result.

Hon mirugi kariuki was quoted as saying tha hon kalonzo musyoka will be prosecuted for a long overdue case because of the stand he has taken on the constitution.
the learned mirugi in my opinion has totally lost it.
i remember in his heyday as a firebrand top nakuru lawyer who usually took on high profile cases which in more ways than one rubbed the govt the wrong.
he is a human rights lawyer of repute who should not be blinded by power.

november 21st is the big day in kenya..
the much awaited and much vaunted referendum on the proposed draft constitution bill aptly named the wako draft ( named after the kenyan attorney general) will be held on this date.
the country is extremely polarised into two camps which have assigned fruits to represent their sides.
the yes camp led by the president...h.e emilio kibaki has a banana, while the no camp led by revolutionary turned cabinet minister ( yep he is part of kibaki's cabinet) raila odinga, has been assigned an orange!!!
these two camps have really gone to wild lengths to demonstrate their positions to the extent of villifying the two innocent fruits!!!
the no camp has aptly declare that should the country vote yes, then we will have turned our country into a "banana republic" !!! this ofcourse will require an orange revolution ....ukraine style!!
the yes camp is actually dormant though a cursory comment here and there erupts.
for instance it was reported in the daily nation that the president was offered an array of fruits while presiding over a police function..... naturally he opted for a banana and his entourage sycophantly followed suit!!
at a funeral, an assistant minister offered the mourners lots of bananas to quell their hunger...
of course the beneficiaries of this charade are the vegetable and fruit sellers who are reportedly doing brisk business in all the rallies depending on which fruit the rally identifies with..
another clever campaign tool is email and sms..
these spread like bush fire
the kikuyu are known to be vulgar...
the orange has a connotation in gikuyu which refers to twilight girls as 'gachungwa' ----this is kikuyu name for an orange.---hence the yes team refers to the no team as people of quetionable moral standing.
but the brunt of this jokes of course villifies the banana camp..
this fruit has been admonished and demonised!!!
the yes camp has been delt a huge pr blow...they cannot come up with clever campaign strategiies..all the do is issue hollow proclamation on how they are going to shake every corner of the country...... they are yet to shake off the slumber they seem to be in!!

simply put, kenyan politics is deeply tribal.....the chief protagonists have always been the kikuyus and luos.these two tribes dont see eye to eye politically. ironically they came together in 2002 to destroy the Moi-Kanu stranglehold that held kenya to ransom for close to 42 years.....

ofcourse now it appears it is a battle of kikuyu (and its offshoots..the ameru and aembu) versus the luo ( and the rest of the smaller tribe). this has of course been symbolised as a kibaki vs. raila affair....talk of cheap politics!!!

well november 21 is the decider.....as for me, i despise both fruits. i love barley and malt!!!
simply put i will vote for my tusker ...the top kenyan beer...u should get some//
